MinKriSet

Development of a harmonised set of minimum criteria for the assessment of sustainable action by agricultural enterprises in key business sectors

Objectives

Sustainability is an increasingly important factor for agricultural companies. Nevertheless, a uniform, recognized evaluation system is lacking. The project “The development of a harmonised set of minimum criteria for the assessment of sustainable action by agricultural enterprises in key business sectors” (MinKriSet) aims to create a measurement and evaluation system that includes ecological, economic and social aspects. The aim is to establish a common understanding of sustainable agriculture and to harmonize existing evaluation systems. To this end, the MinKriSet project, with the participation of the Thünen Institute and the DLG e. V., is developing a scientifically sound and practice-oriented minimum criteria set for evaluating the sustainable activities of agricultural businesses. The focus is on dairy production, arable farming and pig farming. In a multi-stage process - from requirements analysis and prioritization of relevant criteria to validation in multi-stakeholder workshops - a practical evaluation system is being developed. International standards such as the EU taxonomy are taken into account to ensure broad compatibility. The result is a system that offers agricultural businesses sustainable added value and can be implemented in practice.
