Netzwerk Fokus Tierwohl

Transform livestock farming in Germany by improving animal welfare

Objectives

The Netzwerk Fokus Tierwohl project aims to transform livestock farming in Germany by improving animal welfare and promoting environmentally friendly and sustainable farming practices. Three animal welfare competence centers for pigs, poultry, and cattle will be established, serving as central contact points for farmers, advisors, and other stakeholders. These centers will consolidate scientific knowledge, practical tips, and advisory recommendations, and promote exchange between practitioners, scientists, and advisors. The project is supported by a network of animal welfare multipliers in the federal states, ensuring the transfer of knowledge into practice. The project is coordinated by the Association of Agricultural Chambers e.V. and supported by various state and federal institutions as well as scientific organizations.
