PIONEER Network

Protein Innovation for Sustainable Nutrition

Objectives

PIONEER is a networking project to promote the sustainable transfer of knowledge between 27 innovation projects funded by the BMLEH (Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity). The aim is to support research and development initiatives that contribute to the development and use of alternative protein sources for human nutrition. Close cooperation between the projects creates synergies that increase both the efficiency and innovative strength of all those involved. The resulting network is intended to raise public awareness of the topic and derive recommendations for action for research, practice and politics. The bidding consortium “Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft (DLG e.V.)” and “Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg” was commissioned by the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) to carry out the networking and transfer measure PIONEER “Alternative protein sources for human nutrition”.
